About ReadLength
A measurement office, not a book site. It counts; it does not review.
Why this exists
"How long is this book" is answered everywhere with a page count, which is a property of an edition's typesetting rather than of the book. "What reading level is it" is answered, if at all, with a proprietary score behind a PDF on a school district's website.
Both questions have real answers that can be computed from the text itself. This site computes them for 683 public-domain classics and publishes the method alongside.
What you will not find here
No book text, no plot summaries, no reviews, no ratings, no affiliate links to buy anything. If you want to know what a book is about, this is the wrong site — deliberately. It measures.
Who runs it
Built by Amit Sharma in Auckland, New Zealand, as one of a family of free data tools at amit.marketing.
How it is funded
Google AdSense, and nothing else.
